Hazel Lee Langston Brown, 98, widow of Osie L. Brown, entered into eternal rest Monday, May 17, 2021. A longtime resident of Hanahan, she was an active member of Highland Park Baptist Church until moving to Taylors to live with her nephew in recent years. Her Graveside Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue at 1:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Hazel was born February 10, 1923 in Sardis, SC, daughter of the late Josh Langston and the late Alice Lee Langston.

She was predeceased by her brothers Julian Langston and Glenn Langston and sisters Annie Myrtle Langston Herring, Mildred Langston and Mary Langston.

She is survived by four nephews: Henry (Ingrid) Herring of Portland, OR, Nathan (Margaret) Herring of Taylors, SC, Steve (Betsy) Langston of Brevard, NC and Greg (Susan) Langston of St. Petersburg, FL; a niece, Cheryl Langston of Timmonsville, SC; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Hazel always had a skip in her step. She loved children and animals, and they loved her even more. Among so many things, she was known for her famous seven-layer salad, potato salad, chocolate chip cookies, a willingness to go go go, recording everything with her camera, and an energy that knew no bounds.
