Maury Hayne Stratford, Jr., 82, husband of Nancy Lou Foster Stratford, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011. The relatives and friends of Hayne Stratford are invited to attend his Funeral Service at the Cryptside, Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.  Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.   The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Mr. Stratford was born July 22, 1928 in Tupelo, MS, son of the late Maury Hayne Stratford and Ollie Grace Gilliam Stratford.  He was a veteran of the US Navy.  He loved to fish and enjoyed music.  He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy Stratford of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two daughters, Shay Stratford and her husband, Thomas Wilson of Marshall, NC and Dale Stratford and her husband, Norman Markel of Atlanta, GA; step-son, Johnny Cooper, Jr. and his wife, Rhonda of Awendaw, SC; and ten grandchildren, Ashley Jackson, Shannon Jackson, J.D. Cooper, III, Jayme Lake, Janna Cooper, Jennie Wilson, Scott Wilson, Aaron Markel, Jordan Markel and Philip Markel. The family requests memorials be made to the Hospice of Charleston Foundation, 676 Wando Park Blvd, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
