Harvey Vance Taylor, 88, of North Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Carolyn Taylor, entered into eternal rest Friday, June 15, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 in Wando Woods Baptist Church, 4123 Dorsey Avenue at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends in the church from 10:30 am until the time of service. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL.
Harvey was born August 22, 1929 in Asheville, North Carolina, son of the late Charles Taylor and Zora Griffin Taylor. He was formerly employed by Western Auto as a store manager and he also was formerly self-employed owning a fence company. Harvey was member of Wando Woods Baptist Church where he served as Adult Class Sunday school teacher and deacon. He enjoyed golfing, writing and reading his Bible.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Taylor of North Charleston, SC; son, Gerald Vance Taylor (Judith) of Charleston, SC, step-daughter, Susan Jones (Coker) of Hartsville, SC; two granddaughters, Allison Davis (Justin) of Summerville, SC, Traci Combs (Jeffery) of Charleston, SC; grandson Darby Boston of Charleston, SC, and step-grandson, Aaron Smith (Stephanie) of Hartsville, SC; seven great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandson, one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irma P. Taylor and son, Charlie Taylor.
