Harry John Wamboldt, 64, devoted husband of Gail Pruzinsky Wamboldt of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 after a courageous seventeen month battle with brain cancer. The relatives and friends of Harry Wamboldt are invited to a "Celebration of His Life" on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 3:00 pm.
Harry was born February 6, 1948 in Acton, Massachusetts, son of the late Hubert Wamboldt and Ann Fishburn Wamboldt . He received his degree in Economics from California State College of Los Angeles and served in the United States Navy as a submariner on the SS Barbell from 1968 to 1974. Harry was responsible for bringing ARC International (Mikasa) to the Charleston area, and served as Vice President of Operations and General Manager. He was a highly accomplished executive with a superior track record of improving financial and operational performances, productivity enhancements and supply chain improvements. He was also on the Board of Directors for Trident Technical College Foundation, Past Board Chairman for the Charleston Trident Urban League, a Board member for the International Trade Conference and on the Board of Directors with the South Carolina Birds of Prey Organization.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Wamboldt of Mount Pleasant, SC; and a son, Benjamin Alan Wamboldt and his wife, Erin of Tampa, FL.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and staff of Roper/St. Francis Hospital, Charleston Hematology and Oncology Associates, and Dr. Mills and his staff. A special thank you as well to Sarah, Rebecca, Thomasena, Debbie, and Susan for their devoted care.
