Harry Franklin Morgan

May 26, 1935 — September 9, 2012

Harry Franklin Morgan, Sr. 77, of Bonneau, SC, husband of the former Edith Holladay Morgan, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at a local hospital. Harry was born on May 26, 1935 in Harrington, DE to William Franklin and Pauline Wilson Morgan. He was a retired Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force.

Over the years he enjoyed vacationing with his wife in Daytona Beach, FL, NASCAR racing, fishing and many wonderful fish fry gatherings with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 31 years, Edith; two brothers, Jack Morgan and Marshall Morgan; two sisters, Patsy Lankford and Eunice Hughes; and two great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Bailey Simons.

He is survived by two sons, Harry F. Morgan, Jr. (Debra) of Six Mile, SC and William T. Morgan (Pat) of Coventry, RI; a step-daughter, Lynn Stanley (Richard) of North Charleston, SC; a step-son, Wayne McNeill (Lin), of Goose Creek, SC; two sisters, Jeannie Walker of Georgetown, DE and Grace Harvey of Greensboro, MD; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren with three great-grandchildren on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

He fought a hard battle against all odds and we are very proud of his stance against that dreaded disease called Cancer. He will be greatly missed by his family.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the special care given by all of his doctors, and the nurses and hospital staff at Roper/St. Francis Downtown and Roper/St. Francis West Ashley. Our loving gratitude is extended to caregivers, Bertha Shumpert and Shirley Wadford for all the kindness and giving care that they have provided.
