Harry (Hal) was born July 22,1952 in Macon, Georgia, son of the late Harry Austin Leming, Sr. and Betty Layfield Leming. He served in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Air Force Reserves during Operation Desert Storm/Shield receiving several medals for meritorious conduct.

Hal loved music, particularly Classic Country and Bluegrass-Bluegrass/Gospel. He and his wife, Jean, were musicians and members of the New Hope Bluegrass Band where they played in various churches, Bluegrass festivals, and local jam sessions as well as Guy Tina’s Pickin’ Parlor in Bethera, SC. Hal played a variety of instruments including stand-up bass, electric bass, electric and acoustic guitars, and mandolin.

He also enjoyed motorcycles and rode with the Goldwing rodeo for years. He was devout in his faith and not only served as a deacon in his church but also taught Sunday Morning Bible Study. He also served our Lord on several mission trips including the Katrina project and in Brazil, SA. Hal was quite adept at building things. In his younger days, he could build a house from the foundation to the roof including plumbing and electrical. He was always busy making things, large and small, for his family, friends and neighbors.

Harry is survived by his wife, Jean, of 27 years; son, Jason Leming (Jackie) of Summerville, SC; two granddaughters, Carson Leming of Summerville, SC and Kayla Seiffert of St Louis, MO; brother, Al Leming of Danville, GA; and several nieces and a nephew.
