Entered into eternal rest on the morning of December 30, 2010, Harry C. Killingsworth, beloved husband of Doris Polk Killingsworth. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Killingsworth are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 1:30 pm at Charlestowne Methodist Church. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Saturday between 4:00-6:00 pm.
Mr. Killingsworth was born June 23, 1926, the son of the late Eldred B. Killingsworth and Mamie C. Tompkins Killingsworth. He was a graduate of Charleston High School and was a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran. He served an apprenticeship as an electrician at The Charleston Naval Shipyard and was later promoted to supervisor in SupShips.
He loved the Lord and was a member in good standing at Charlestowne Methodist Church, serving on the Board of Stewards and in other capacities. He was a devoted husband and was loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Doris, of fifty-nine and a half years; one brother: Woodrow Killingsworth of Charleston, SC and many, many nephews and nieces.
