Harry "David" Orr

Harry David Orr, 71, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, husband of Denise Orr entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 13, 2024. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

David was born September 9, 1953 in Taylorville, Illinois, son of the late Harry William Orr and Juanita Huffine Orr. David was corporate for most of his professional life starting as Purchasing Agent with Ingersoll-Rand Corporation, Director with Georgia Pacific, and the last eight years Managing Director of Environmental Health, Safety and Emergency Management at The Citadel Military College, also served as a Class 3/Advanced State Constable for the State of South Carolina, and was certified in schooling for Drones. He taught as a college adjunct instructor for Midstate Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, instructed CPR classes for many profit and non-profits, and member of a good number of service clubs in the Midwest. He earned a Master’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety from Columbia Southern University and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Personnel Management from Millikin University, Illinois. David was a member of the Zeta Sigma Psi chapter at Millikin University and honor society of Alpha Kappa Psi. He enjoyed golfing, technology and the continual advancements in technology, the outdoors, donor and staying abreast of conservative politics, sports as a die-hard Cubs and Bears fan, and his family and close gold friends, which was truly his ultimate happiness.

David was an adoring husband, father, and grandfather whose family meant everything to him. He is survived by his children: Emily Orr Hunsley (Cory) of Edingburg, IL and Ellery Orr Ruddock (Jace) of Taylorville, IL; four grandchildren: Ruby, Demry, and Parke Hunsley, and newly born Vera Ruddock; siblings: Sherry, Regina and Shelly; sister-in-law, Christine Berndt Alger of Quincy, IL, and a few nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, younger brother Daniel Orr, in-laws, and brother-in-law.
