Harry Linford "Lindy" Collins, 62, of Saint George, SC, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. His funeral service will be held Sunday, August 27, 2017 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Walterboro, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Lindy was born June 30, 1955 in Charleston, SC, son of Harry Linford Collins, Sr. and Eva Christensen Collins Klink. He was a hard worker and retired as a radiographer from Parker Hannifan Corporation. Lindy was a history and Civil War buff and a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He loved his family dearly, enjoyed bird watching and life in his country home and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is survived by two sons, John David Collins (Caroline) of Deer Lodge, TN, Michael Stephen Collins (Kim) of Nashville, TN and their mother Kathleen Elizabeth Mizell Collins of Crossville, TN; grandchildren, Sarah & Peter Collins; two brothers-in-law, John Maxwell Mizell of Ravenel, SC and Sam Mizell of Nashville, TN; and his precious dog, Holly. He was preceded in death by his sister Debbie Comstock.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 and/or Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
