Harriette "Bunny" Revels Perkins, 75, of Edisto Beach, SC, passed away peacefully at her home on Edisto Beach on Monday June 21st after several years of declining health. A memorial service for her will be held in The Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island Fellowship Hall Thursday, June 24th, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Ashley Sanders will officiate. Burial will be private. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
She was affectionately known as "Bunny" during her life, having been born on Easter Sunday on April 21st, 1946, in Chester, SC. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Yeoma Revels, Sr. and Elizabeth Wylie Revels.
A graduate of Winthrop University, she was married to Francis "Frank" Wilson Perkins from 1966 until his passing in 2007. She raised two loving sons and was known throughout her life for her great love of animals having many different cats and dogs as pets through the years. At various times during her life she worked as an educator and assisted in her husband's textile sales business.
She had the joy of extensive travel with her husband during their life, but she also enjoyed staying home, gardening, and reading.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francis "Frank" Wilson Perkins, Sr.; her mother, Elizabeth "Bessie" Wylie Revels; and her father, Alfred Yeoma Revels, Sr.
She is survived by her brother, Alfred Yeoma Revels, Jr. (Betty Anne) of Chester, SC; her son, Francis "Wilson" Perkins, Jr. (Eleanor) of Cleveland, SC; her son, David "Wylie" Perkins of Edisto Beach, SC; a granddaughter, Eliana; and a number of nephews and nieces.
She and her family were also thankful for a number of caretakers who have assisted with her care during recent years, especially her current caretaker Carol Jefferson. She also treasured her devoted friends who have kept in touch with her through the years.
She was a member of The Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island.
