Harriett E. Coker, 76, of Charleston,S.C. passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Hospice of Charleston in Mt. Pleasant S.C. after a three year battle with Carcinoid Cancer, a rare form of liver cancer.
She is the daughter of the late Milan M. Eison and Jeanette Kirkwood Eison. She was born in Greenville S.C. on March 1, 1936. She graduated from North Charleston High School in 1954. She graduated from nursing training at Greenville General Hospital in 1957. She was a Registered OB/GYN nurse.
She is survived by her three children: George C. Coker of Kapolei, Hawaii; Mary C. Coker Mojica (Tony) of Goose Creek, S.C. and Stephen M. Coker (Amy) of Kunsan, South Korea. She has two brothers and one sister: James D. Eison (Martha) of Greenville, S.C.; Edward F. Eison (Beth) of Orlando Fl.; Mary M. Horres (Russell) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. She has three grandchildren, Adam C. Coker of Fayetteville, N.C.; Carol E. Coker of Burgaw, N. C. and Aaron T. Coker of Kapolei, Hawaii. She has one step granddaughter, Kyana C. Mojica of Canton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, George S. Coker.
A memorial service will be held at North Charleston United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 15, 2012. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road.
