Harold Frank Hock Jr., 85, was born on October 24, 1940, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Harold Frank Hock Sr. and Marie Barlow Hock. He grew up in Sumter, South Carolina, alongside his younger sister, Ann Hock Gaillard.

During his youth, Harold excelled as an athlete, participating in football, basketball, and swimming. After graduating from high school, he went on to earn a business degree from Clemson University, where he also became a lifelong Tigers fan.

Harold had a strong work ethic, and his career included working for Raybestos-Manhattan, Bard, and later as an inspector for the boll weevil program. He also served our country through the Army National Guard. He approached his work with dedication and integrity. An avid outdoorsman, Harold found great joy in fishing, hunting, and training hunting dogs. Some of his happiest moments were spent outdoors, sharing his love of nature and sport with family and friends.

Harold is survived by his loving wife, Gwen Hock; his children, Chris Hock (Luana), Renee Hock Hemric (Brian), and Trey Hock (Kelly); and his stepdaughter, Lynn Collins (Bryan). He was a proud grandfather to Charity, Christopher (Emily), Clayton (Kaylin), Faith, Caleb (Ashtyn), Hope, Ann, Josiah, Curtis, Joshua, Parker, Carson, Marshall, and Addie Grace; and his step-grandchildren, Dylan Collins (Shanice) and Kasey Jarvis (Scott). He was also blessed with great-grandchild Christopher, as well as step-great-grandchildren Parker Jarvis (Audrey), Logan Boatwright, and Gunner Jarvis. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Hock Gaillard, and his cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Frank Hock Sr.; his mother, Marie Barlow Hock; and his brother-in-law, Shay Gaillard.

Harold will be remembered for his strength, love of the outdoors, and deep devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and in the generations who carry his name forward.
