Harold Donald Gabel, M.D., 77, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Myra Lois Zeitlin Gabel entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 31, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.

Harold was born September 29, 1940 in Newark, New Jersey, son of the late Isadore Gabel and Fay Brody Gabel. He held an Undergraduate Degree from Columbia University, was a graduate of University of Louisville Medical School, and received his Master's Degree from University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Gabel was a retired Public Health Director and was a United States Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was a member of Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Congregation.

Dr. Gabel is survived by his wife of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters: Elizabeth McKay of Palm City, FL and Rachel Brown of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, Gary Gabel of Columbia, SC; two brothers: Philip Gabel of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Stewart Gabel of Denver, CO; and six grandchildren.
