Harold Edward Amerson, 60, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Sandra Jean Brewer Amerson, died Sunday, April 10, 2011, in a local hospital.

Born July 22, 1950 in Charleston, SC he was one of four children of Jack Amerson and Bessie Iola Thigpen Amerson.  He was a US Air Force veteran, Master Barber and owner of Harold's Old Fashioned Barber Shop on Dorchester Road.

Mr. Amerson is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandra Amerson; sons Tony Gantt of North Charleston, SC and Bradley Gantt of Summerville, SC; sister, Ann Ashton and her husband Keith of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Randy Amerson and his wife Janice of Hanahan, SC; grandchildren:  Braxton Gantt, Kayla Gantt, Kylie Gantt and Hayden Gantt; and newborn nephew, Joshua Parker Amerson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Amerson.

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 4:30 PM.  Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Thursday, April 14, 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
