Harmon Hewlett Alford, 83, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Elizabeth Tennant Alford entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 28, 2014. His funeral service with military honors will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC at 2:00pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.

Harmon was born June 20, 1930 in Chester, SC, one of six children of the late Harmon Willis Alford and the late Mary Dennis Alford. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. Harmon a decorated Air Force officer, served for 22 years and retired with the rank of Major.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Alford of North Charleston, SC; daughters, Leslie Moon and her husband Carl of Elberton, GA and Anne-Marie Johnson and her husband John of Watkinsville, GA; sister, Vivian Gardner of Sebring, FL; grandchildren: Michelle, Joshua and Sarah-Elisabeth; and his cat, Smokey. He was preceded in death by four sisters.
