Harlan Baine Lackey

June 8, 1920 — August 6, 2018

Harlan Baine Lackey, 98, of Johns Island, South Carolina, widower of Gertrude Horres Lackey entered into eternal rest Monday, August 6, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel 232 Calhoun Street at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday in the Downtown Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm.

Harlan was born June 8, 1920 in Hiddenite, North Carolina, son of the late Jay Clarence Lackey and Effie Johnson Lackey. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as an Electronics Engineer Code 270. Harlan was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Anne Lackey Hungerford of Alpharetta, GA; son, Dr. Keith Lackey (Jennifer) of Johns Island, SC; ; brother, Dayton Lackey of Hiddenite, NC; five grandchildren: Ellen Pierson, Claire Kinser, Stephen Hungerford, Meredith Lackey and Madison Lackey; five great-grandchildren, William, Caroline, Rebecca, Lauren and Katherine.
