Hans Uwe Schmelzer

Hans Uwe Schmelzer, 68, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Ines Tampe Schmelzer, entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 22, 2022. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 in Belle Hall Plantation Clubhouse, 652 Belle Hall Pkwy, Mt. Pleasant at 3:00 pm. 
 
Uwe was born August 23, 1954 in Halle, Germany, son of the late Waltraud Schmelzer.

He was a funny, kindhearted husband, father, grandfather, leader, and role model. He always led by example and put the happiness of others above his own. 

Uwe dedicated his time and commitment to HUBNER MFG in Mount Pleasant, moving his family from Germany to the United States in 2001. Although passionate about work, he loved his family. They enjoyed going on adventures and seeing different areas of the world. 
 
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Ines Schmelzer of Mount Pleasant, SC; children, Anna Schmelzer (Drew Lambert), Maria Rueca (Karl), and Georg Schmelzer (Ashley); and six grandchildren, Sebastian, Anthony, Amelia, Emma, Johannes, and Alina.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson Research Foundation, 5969 Cattleridge Blvd., Suite 100, Sarasota, FL 34232.
