Gwendolyn Elwell Buckley

Gwendolyn Elwell Steadman Buckley, 91, of Charleston, SC, widow of Lt. Robert Owen Buckley (USN, Ret.) entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 5, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at the crypt side in Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum, 7113 Rivers Avenue at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street
.Gwendolyn was born July 9, 1922 in South Carolina, daughter of Thomas Elmore Steadman and Ruth Steadman. She was a homemaker, a volunteer at Roper Hospital and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Red Cross and John Wesley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert O. Buckley, Jr. (Leona) of El Cajon, CA and Thomas E. Buckley (Helen) of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Susan G. Buckley-Stehlik (Michael) of Florence, SC and Patricia A. Buckley-Moss (Lionel) of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
