Guyton Mark "Rocky" Player

January 30, 1954 — June 27, 2018

Guyton Mark "Rocky" Player, 64, of Awendaw, South Carolina, husband of Donna Cumbee Player left this world on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. The world lost an amazing man on that day. His memorial service will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 4:00 p.m. There will be a gathering of friends one hour prior to the service in the Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Rocky was larger than life, an amazing storyteller, an old salt, a child of the 60's & 70's, a gifted artist, a fisherman, a dock hand, the life of the party, a son, a brother, a father and a husband.

He was an Awendaw native, as stubborn as they come, straight from Munn Hill. Rocky will be missed more than most and loved eternally by everyone that knew him. He worked as an ILA long shoreman for over 30 years.

Rocky is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna; son, Guyton Mark Player of Awendaw; brother, Guyton Scott Player of St. James City, FL; father, Duane Gemer; nieces; nephews; lots of cousins; and many, many friends.
