Guy Reaves Arthur

Guy Reaves Arthur, 59, of Summerville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 16, 2023. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in the Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Charleston, SC at 2:00 pm. Burial services will be held at a later date in St. Johns Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinopolis, SC in a private ceremony for the immediate family. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Guy was born September 14, 1964 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Thayer Reaves Arthur (Mary Ellen) and Ada Carter Arthur (Ralph Shrivalle). He resided at the Parsons St. group home for special needs. Guy enjoyed good music, and great food. He loved watching TV, and talking to people - he never met a stranger. He loved his church and liked to hand out bulletins and greet people as they entered. Potlucks were his very favorite. He attended Camp High Hopes for many years. He loved going to the James Island YMCA every day of the summer. 

In addition to his parents, Guy is survived by his sister, Tracey Arthur; brother, Tait Arthur (Linda); and nephew, TJ Arthur.

Memorial donations can be made in Guy's memory to the Special Olympics and Courageous Kids.
