Gretta Branks Masche

Gretta Branks Masche, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Louis E. Masche died Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

Gretta was born June 2, 1929 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Charles W. Branks and the late Caroline Kuck Branks. She was a retired receptionist and L.P.N. at St. Francis Xavier Hospital. She was a life long member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Louis "Sonny" E. Masche of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two daughters, Linda M. Hammill (Andy) of James Island, SC and Lou Ellen Ackermann (Karl) of Plainfield, IL; and one sister, Lila B. Adams of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Brianna and Brooke Emes and Erich Ackermann. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles W. Branks, Jr. and John A. Branks, two sisters, Vivian B. Mappus and Helen B. Smoak.
