Gretchen Baker Horlbeck, 56, of Johns Island, SC, wife of John Wilcox Horlbeck, entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 18, 2013. Her funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in St. John's Parish Church, 3673 Maybank Highway, Johns Island, at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Churchyard. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Gretchen was born November 29, 1956 in Hemingway, SC, daughter of Keith LeGette Baker and the late Colette Papp Baker. She attended the College of Charleston, was a member of the Society for the Preservation of Spirituals and sang with the Charleston Symphony Chorus. Gretchen was a vestry and choir member of St. John's Parish Church on Johns Island.

She is survived by her husband of Johns Island, SC; her father of Bowman, SC; two sons, Daniel W. Horlbeck of Edisto Island, SC and William B. Horlbeck of Columbia, SC; and her brother, Boyd LeGette Baker of Johns Island, SC.
