Gregory Scot Rogers of Hanahan, SC, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2025 after a lengthy battle with cancer and heart disease.
Greg was born on July 1, 1965 in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Dargan Carlisle Rogers and Patricia Ardis Rogers. He graduated from Middleton High School in Charleston, SC where he was a member of the award-winning Middleton Singers and represented the school in a number of couples dancing competitions at the Coastal County Fair. After high school he attended Francis Marion University and Trident Technical College. He then went on to work for Belk for many years as well as Pier One Imports, Gwynn’s of Mt. Pleasant, At Home and last at Palmetto Moon at its corporate headquarters in North Charleston, SC. His real passion was working for most of his adult life in his design business for a number of local businesses, governmental entities, and families. Greg loved almost all cats and dogs, particularly beagles.
He was predeceased by his father, Dargan C. Rogers Sr., of Charleston, SC. He is survived by: his mother, Patricia A. Rogers, of Charleston, SC; his brother, D. Carl Rogers, of Daniel Island, SC; his nephew, Dargan M. Rogers (Jill) and their son, Dargan Mathis Rogers, Jr. (“Matty”), of Augusta, GA; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members in the greater Manning, SC area; and his partner, William J. Holt (“Bill”) of Hanahan, SC.
A private memorial service will be held for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Greg’s honor to the American Heart Association online or at 887 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464, or the American Cancer Society online or at 269 Calhoun St., Charleston, SC 29401.
