Gregory Lee Lyttle

Gregory Lee Lyttle, 68, of Hollywood, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Monday, January 22, 2024.

Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Gregory was born June 8, 1955 in York, Pennsylvania, son of the late James Ralph Lyttle and Sophie Veronica Dembeck Lyttle.  In 1974, Greg married the love of his life, Ellen Gail Lyttle.

In addition to his wife, Ellen, he is survived by two daughters, Kate (Daniel) Pennella and Sarah (Omar) Nesbit and 5 grandchildren:  Lucas Nesbit, Max Pennella, Claire Pennella, Eli Nesbit, and Quentin Nesbit.  He is also survived by brothers, Michael and David, and sisters, Nora Williams, and Joie Adkins.

Greg had a passion for woodworking and refinishing antique furniture.  He was the ultimate perfectionist when it came to his projects.  He also took pride in his bountiful summer garden.  Greg loved making candles, along with jelly and jams to enjoy and give away as gifts.  The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Greg.  He loved crossword puzzles, and teaching his daughters and grandkids the esoteric words he came across.  He also loved to sing, and was a proud member of the Glen Rock Carolers for 19 years.  Greg and Ellen were able to travel the country over the past 10 years, making many lasting memories.  Greg also held a very special place in his heart for his cat, Duckie.  More than anything, he loved his family, enjoying his grandchildren as “Poppy” for the last 10 years.

Greg leaves behind not just cherished memories but also a profound impact on our lives .  May his love, generosity, and wisdom live on in each of us and the 5 grandchildren he adored. His legacy will forever remain in our hearts, reminding us of the extraordinary man he was.
