Greg J. Hribar

Greg J. Hribar, 73 of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

Son of Frank J. Hribar and Jean C. Hribar, Greg grew up in Cleveland Heights, OH and played football for Miami University (OH) where he earned a bachelor’s degree from its Farmer School of Business. After relocating to the Washington, DC area in 1973 to join Marriott International, Greg traveled around the world building teams and programs as Director of Training and Organizational Development. In 1986, he earned an MBA from Loyola University (MD) and pivoted to the information technology sector where he spent the rest of his career leading the growth strategy for several startup firms. A mentor to many, Greg was known for his integrity, unwavering optimism, and creative adaptability under pressure. He was passionate about golf, music, and landscaping; and will be remembered most for his love and dedication to his family. 

Greg is survived by his wife, Sandra; son, Gavin; sister, Joyce (Rick) Kovatch; brother, Gary (Sherilyn); and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Diane (Patrick) Grady.

A private family service will be held in Charleston, SC. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer at a date and location to be determined.
