Graham L. Hallman

Graham L. Hallman, 93, of North Charleston, entered into eternal rest on February 18, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Awendaw, South Carolina on October 30, 1929, to the late Verdie Louise Cumbee and Charles DeWitt Hallman.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. His memorial service will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 in the West Ashley Chapel at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.

Graham met the love of his life, Betty Hull, at the skating rink in 1950, and they were married June 29, 1952. They celebrated their 70th Anniversary last summer.

Graham proudly served his country in the Naval Reserve as well as the US Army during the Korean Conflict as a Physical Training Instructor.

He worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a pipefitter instructor for 30 years and retired in 1991. He served on various committees and the Board of Directors for the SC Federal Credit Union for 29 years.

Graham was a man of honor, integrity, and strength, and instilled these values in his daughters. He loved his family and always said "Family is everything."

He was strong in his faith and was a longtime member of Advent Lutheran Church.

Faith, family, and country; this is his legacy and will live on through all.

He will be sadly missed, but forever in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his baby daughter, Jo Ann; brothers, Charles DeWitt Hallman Jr. and William Norman Hallman; and his sister, Louise H. Hogan.

Graham is survived by his wife, Betty Hull Hallman; 3 children, Cathy Buskirk (Victor), Brenda Barnett (Doug), and Lisa Gilmore (David); 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Geneva H. Kessler and Gerry H. Urick; sister-in-law, Sandra Atkinson (John); brother-in-law, G. Randolph Hull Jr. (Annis); and many nieces and nephews.
