Grady Glenn Roney, 84, of Charleston, SC, husband of Joanne Skipper Roney, entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 1, 2014. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL at 12:00 noon. Entombment will be private. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel Monday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Grady was born March 18, 1930 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, son of the late Henry Grady Roney and the late Velma Holland Roney. He was a 1954 graduate of the Medical College of South Carolina School of Pharmacy, co-founder and president of Berkeley Drugs and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joanne; three daughters, Tamara Saunders (Mark) of Simpsonville, SC, Dionne Lenn Roney of Charleston and Annette Drachman (Ken) of Charleston; sister, Barbara Whittington of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren: Dustin Drachman, Adam Drachman, Brad Saunders, Andrew Saunders and Katie Saunders; and nephews and nieces: David Whittington (Lisa), Beth MacNaughton (Robert), Caroline Soomsawasdi and Sam Skipper. He was preceded in death by his son, Earl Roney.
