Grady Allen Moore

August 16, 1934 — July 22, 2011

 


Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of Friday, July 22, 2011, Grady Allen Moore Jr., husband of Suzanne McMahon Moore.  Residence, Hollywood, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs. Grady Allen Moore, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 3 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.  Visitation will be following the service. 


 


Allen was born August 16, 1934 in Charleston, SC the son of Grady Allen Moore, Sr., and Geraldine Miller Moore.  He was a graduate of the High School of Charleston, attended Clemson University and The Citadel.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was the owner-operator of Southeastern Inspections Services, Inc.  He was a member of the Charleston Elks Lodge #242 and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.



 


Allen was an outgoing, very active person who dearly loved life, his family and friends.  He enjoyed airplanes, motorcycles, cars, hunting, scuba diving, sky diving, boating and camping.  He was a wonderful cook.  He and his wife, Suzanne, were truly best friends and shared camping and boating much of their time together. 



 


He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; five children:  Cheryl M. (David) Ferguson of Candler, NC, Barre M. Eustace of Myrtle Beach, SC, Leslie M. (Jesse) Perkins of Columbia, SC, Michelle B. (Joe) Ricciardi of Sharpsburg, GA, and R. Scott (Letricia) Burns of Denver, NC; 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sister: Joyce Frances (Henry) Blanton of Ridgeville, SC; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his brother, Clifford Tommy Moore.



 


In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Charleston Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406 or the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Suite 108-B, Columbia, SC 29204.



 


Allen will be sorely missed by his family and large number of close friends and associates.   


In honor of Allen, please wear no suits or ties to his funeral.
