It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Grady McDaniel LePrince, who left us peacefully on April 5, 2024 in his home on James Island at the age of 78. Born August 10, 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Blanche and Julius LePrince, Grady grew up in the Avondale neighborhood, a place close to his heart throughout his life.
A proud graduate of Charleston Southern University, Grady dedicated part of this life to serving in the US Army Reserves. His commitment to service continued long after his military tenure, as he was an active member of the Exchange Club of Charleston, Washington Light Infantry, and Bethany UMC, contributing significantly to all.
Grady built a respected career in Charleston as a property casualty insurance agent, touching the lives of many with his professionalism and kindness. Outside of work, he was known among his friends from St. Andrews Parish High School for their weekly tennis matches every Thursday, a tradition he cherished.
Grady's legacy is carried on by his beloved wife of 55 years, Phyllis Masters LePrince, also a Charleston native, and his son, Kevin G. LePrince. His warmth, generosity and spirited love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
His Funeral Service will be held at the Graveside, Friday, April 12, 2024 in Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road at 10:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Grady's memory to Alzheimer's Association, 884 Allbritton Blvd Suite 115, Mt Pleasant, SC, or to Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC. As we bid farewell to Grady, we hold onto the cherished memories and the lasting impact he made on our lives.
