Gracie Rebecca Benjamin Gracie Rebecca Benjamin, 17, of Wando, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Friday, December 2, 2016.

Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in The Church at LifePark, 1151 George Browder Blvd. at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in The Church at LifePark. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Gracie was born April 16, 1999 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Kevin Owen Benjamin and Pamela Gayle Benton Benjamin. She was a student at Wando High School. Gracie was a loving daughter, sister and friend to many. Her smile and sense of humor lit up the world and brought joy to all of our hearts. She was a hard worker and such a responsible teenager. She enjoyed her summer jobs at Wild Dunes eating her share of ice cream and giving large helpings to her friends. Her compassion for others was a characteristic that stood out especially while visiting her grandmother and bringing many smiles to the staff at Sandpiper. Gracie was in the Health Sciences Program at Wando High and was paving the way to enter a career in the nursing field.

In addition to her mother, Gracie is survived by her grandmother, Deloris Benjamin of Mt. Pleasant and siblings, Alyssa (Michael) Schmieder of Huger, SC, Steven A. Benjamin of Charleston, SC, and Shana (Missroon) Lowe of Pensacola, FL; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Kevin Benjamin.Gracie loved animals, especially dogs and her cat, Smokey. She and her sister, Alyssa shared an indescribable bond that was much more than just a special sister connection. She loved family dinners, the beach, shooting skeet, surfing and boating with her dad, family and friends. She spent much time with her St. Stephens family sharing holidays and love with the little ones.
