Gordon William Jones

Mr. Gordon W. Jones, Jr., 78 of North Charleston, went to be with our Lord on September 30, 2015 after being ill for over two years. His funeral service will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church at 11 am. Entombment, with military honors will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Gordon was the son of the late Gordon W. Jones, Sr. and Georgie Lord Jones, and a loving husband of 57 years, Rose Marie Graham Jones. He has two nephews, great-nephews and several cousins.Gordon grew up in Statesboro, GA and Miami, FL. He was educated in the Statesboro schools and the Atlanta Art Institute where he studied Commercial Art. He exhibited his art in state shows and local galleries. His name was featured for five years in the Charleston Gateway Magazine. He served in the U. S. Army and Army Reserve. Gordon was a retired plumber. Traveling, camping and visiting with friends were the things he enjoyed. He was a member of Elmer Baptist Church and American Legion Post 179.
