Goldie Dawkins Faile

Goldie Lucretia Dawkins Faile, widow of Lawrence W. Faile, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on July 24, 2010.  The relatives and friends of Goldie Faile are invited to attend her Funeral Service in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Tuesday July 27, 2010 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow service at First Baptist Church of McClellanville Churchyard, 1064 S. Pinkney Street, McClellanville, SC.  The family will receive friends at the Mt. Pleasant Chapel on Monday July 26, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.  Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.


Mrs. Faile was born May 21, 1918 in Lando, South Carolina, daughter of the late Ellis Dawkins and Martha Lucretia Dawkins Dawkins. Goldie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.  Goldie always said she married her sweetheart, Lawrence, and they were married for sixty-five years, twenty of which she was a devoted Navy wife.  She loved Mt. Pleasant, her family and her friends.  She had a special place in her heart for her cats.  Goldie had a zest for life - loved to go out and enjoyed life to the fullest!

She is survived by her sister, Annie Nell Watson of Seneca, SC, a brother, Alfred Dawkins of Mt. Pleasant, SC, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Goldie was preceded in death by her other sisters and brothers, Sammie Dawkins, Roxie Haley, Tom Dawkins, Elizabeth Lowery,  and Johelen Owens.

Mrs. Faile requested that memorials be made to East Cooper Meals on Wheels, 2304 H. Highway 17, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466.
