Gloria Tanner Platt, 74, of Ravenel, South Carolina, widow of Quillie Clifton Platt, Jr. entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 31, 2013. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 4, 2013 in the Sauldam Baptist Church, 5945 County Line Road, Ravenel at 1:00 pm. Interment, White Church Cemetery, Highway 165, Ravenel. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston.

Gloria was born January 23, 1939 in Effingham, South Carolina, daughter of Marion Otis Tanner, Sr. and Helen Agatha Ward Tanner. She was a member of Sauldam Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters: Helen Platt Keith, Allison Platt Hunter and husband Scott; four granddaughters, Danielle Raptou and husband Paul, Regina Hutchinson, Elizabeth and Sophia Hunter; three grandsons, Jamie Hutchinson, Brandon and Zachary Hunter; four great-grandchildren, Elijah, Ellianna, and Evelyn Raptou and Briana Yantorn; two brothers, Marion Tanner, Jr and Michael Tanner; and a sister, Carolyn Classen.
