Gloria Lehrer Peeples, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Mark Boyd Peeples entered into eternal rest Friday, February 27, 2015. Her funeral service will be held graveside Sunday, March 1, 2015 in Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Cemetery , Huguenin Avenue at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Gloria was born February 8, 1929 in Jersey City, New Jersey, daughter of Maxwell Lehrer and Lillian Cohen Lehrer. She was a proud graduate of Memminger High School and also a member of Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim Temple. Gloria had a great love for her children and grandchildren including her "granddogs". She was a pillar of the community volunteering with many organizations helping children as well as her friends at the Sherman House.
She is survived by three daughters: Lynda P. Spencer (Jeff) of Woodstock, GA, Carla P. Hughes (Bill) of St. Louis, MO and Eve P. Olive (Bill) of Jacksonville, FL; son, Mark M. Peeples of Marietta, GA; and four grandchildren: Lauren, Stacey, Maxwell and Rachel.
