Gloria Perry Mangiaracina, 97, of Jacksonville, Florida, widow of Joseph Francis Mangiaracina entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019 at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Caloun Street, Charleston, SC 29401. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, James Island, SC 29412.
Gloria was born March 7, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late John Perry and Mary Perry Perry. Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and Joe moved to Little Silver, NJ in 1947. Gloria was a homemaker who loved to cook and always made her home a special place for all. She and Joe moved to Charleston, SC in 1972. They loved to dance and enjoyed good meals and relaxing with friends. The happiest times of her life were spent side by side with her husband and family. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church Women's Club, as well as the Italian American Club Association.
She is survived by 7 daughters; Joette Bateman (Michael) of Toms River, NJ, Barbara Cusack (Michael) of Wall NJ, Linda Thomas (John) of Jacksonville, FL, Jane Kalenski (Chris) of Jacksonville, FL, Nancy Pate (Michael) of Charleston, SC, Lisa Quirk (Daniel) of Charleston, SC and Gloria Ross of Charleston, SC; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
