Gloria Ray Hiott Grubbs, 79, of Snellville, Georgia, formerly of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 5, 2024. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, one hour prior to the service.

Gloria was born February 28, 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Langdon Hugh Hiott and the late Louise Edna Hilton Hiott. Growing up, she enjoyed spending time with her grandparents and caring for her pets. She graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1963 at St. Andrew's Parish High School and obtained a bachelor's degree in biology from Furman University, as well as a master's degree in early childhood education from the University of Georgia. She married John Gary Grubbs Jr. on June 3, 1967. She taught for periods at the elementary and middle school levels, but spent most of her time as a homemaker, raising her two children. Her hobbies included gardening, camping, and understanding her family's genealogy and stories. Some of her favorite times were spent with family, as well as in nature, enjoying spring flowers and autumn leaves. 

She is survived by children Gary Grubbs and Jennifer (Colin) Blake; grandson Asher Blake; brother Hugh Hiott; sister Faith Hiott Nye; and nieces and nephews.
