Gloria Jeanne Marek/Browder, of Isle of Palms, SC, entered into eternal rest on January 29, 2021. Gloria was born on July 2, 1961 in Norfolk,Virginia to the late Ambrose David Marek and Evelyn Mae Marek. Ambrose Marek was a Navy Veteran.
Gloria was preceded in death by both parents and an infant son, Paul David Browder III. Gloria is survived in life by one son, Christopher David Browder and husband, David Browder. Also survived by Gloria are her six brothers and sisters, in order: Patricia Whaley, Charles Marek, Robert Marek, Rick Schmitz, Starlee Marek/Moore, and Douglas Marek. Gloria also had 15 nieces and nephews, as well as countless great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Gloria was a native of Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms and was considered an "Island Girl". Gloria loved her sons and was a dedicated mother and wife. Gloria enjoyed living on the islands and was often seen frequenting the VFW, making poppies with her mother at the local stores to raise money for the veterans. Gloria did not tolerate bullies and was known to be a protector of others. She loved music and dancing like everyone was watching. She knew how to take life's trials and tribulations with a grain of salt and laugh her way through them. She was always smiling and joking with anyone, regardless of her circumstances.
Gloria was loved by all that knew her and will be sorely missed by her entire family.
