Gloria Rowe Bellanger, 83, of Johns Island, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Born on July 31, 1942, in Charleston, South Carolina, Gloria was the cherished daughter of the late Haskell Eugene Evans and Jewel Drawdy Evans.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her sons, Timothy Rowe, Christopher Rowe; daughter, Annette Rowe Kleskie; brother, Roger Evans; sister, Carol Evans Goodale; and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Wanda Rowe, as well as two brothers, Roy Evans, and Carl Evans , numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and all that she called friend .

Gloria was known for being busy, especially with work, where she found herself in many roles. She was a head start teacher, she also owned her own cleaning business , back when women couldn't even buy their own car! She worked for the YWCA in Downtown Charleston, she managed a restaurant, the Ship store on Kiawah, and she was also a CNA. She had a passion for reading and constantly learning. She enjoyed all types of art and cultures, clothes, sewing, crafts of all types, and gardening. She naturally had a green thumb, and reveled in growing different varieties of flowers, doing cuttings/rooting , and vegetables gardens . She also enjoyed music, going to the beach, cooking, traveling around the country for work and pleasure, and watching the birds and squirrels from her front porch. Gloria loved to watch football, and was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan. She had notebooks full of different games, stats, plays and teams/players that she liked to watch and follow.

A special thank you to the Yourhealth Care team of nurse's and doctor's , Dr Eunice Freeman for being Mom's Case Manager from the beginning, Sweetgrass Home Care Ms. Kendra & her team of Caregivers , MUSC nurses and doctors. Mom was able to remain at home because of all of YOU.

Allowing Gloria to pass where she wanted (at home) in her recliner in a comfy gown after what she would call a good day.

Good bye for now.

I pray that mom is at the happiest parts of her life, with family and friends, laughing, loving, and full of joy.

Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
