Glora Wagner Evans, age 62, of Temple, TX, passed away at a local Texas care facility Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014, at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. Her funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Carolina Memorial Park.
Mrs. Evans was born June 26, 1952 in Lewistown, Pennsylvania to James Thomas Wagner and Nora Louise Jones Wagner. She attended numerous schools until her father's retirement from the Navy. She graduated from Gordon H. Garrett High School in 1970. She met her husband-to-be while both were involved with martial arts and continued throughout the scuba diving years, followed by marriage and children.She was formerly employed by Southern Division Naval Facilities Engineering Command and later by Dorchester County School District. Mrs. Evans and her family moved to Temple, TX in 1994, so that her husband could continue his civil service career.
Her last employment was at Temple College as coordinator of Training and User Support in the Information Technology (IT) Services Division, where she earned her AAS in Microcomputer Applications Technology.She is survived by her husband of thirty four years, Leonard C. Len Evans, Jr; a son, Leonard C. Lenny Evans III; a daughter, Erin Louise Odell and husband, James; two brothers, James T. Jim Wagner and wife, Inez, and Daniel B. Dan Wagner; a nephew, J.T. Wagner; a niece, Amanda Wagner; mother-in law, Wilma B. Ackerman and father-in law, Leonard C. "Chuck" Evans. She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3520 Executive Center Drive, Suite 140, Austin, TX 78731, for continued research for this and all dementias.
