Glenn Walter Smoak, 63, of Hollywood, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, August 29, 2024. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, September 6th, 2024 at Charleston Baptist Church, 13 San Miguel Road. A visitation will be one hour prior to service. Arrangements by Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Glenn was born, December 28, 1960, in Charleston, South Carolina, son of John W. “Jack” Smoak and Helen Branks Smoak. He was in sales, as well as, Vice President of Smoaks’ Heating and Air. He was a graduate of Trident Academy, in Mount Pleasant.
Glenn was a loving father and grandfather, as well as, an avid outdoorsman. Even as a young boy, you could find him hunting and fishing. As he grew older, he loved to be farming on his tractor. Everyone knew there were only a few places Glenn could be found, either on his tractor, in his deer stand, or duck hunting in the Mississippi Delta.
Glenn is survived by his daughter Addie Sharpe; son, Eli Smoak; grandchildren, Branks and Blakely Sharpe; former spouse, Aletha Smoak; brother, William (Ann); sister, Julie "Heidi" (Jim); nephews, Tyler Smoak (Peyton), Taylor Smoak, Carson Shelton, and niece Kenna Shelton. Also, his best friend, Rosie. He was predeceased by his father, John W. “Jack” Smoak, and mother, Helen Branks Smoak.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Camp Happy Days, 933 Dupont Rd Suite B, Charleston, SC 29407, or Trident Academy, 1455 Wakendaw Rd, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464, in memorial of Glenn Smoak are welcomed. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
