Gladys Marie Atkins Kelly

Gladys Marie Atkins Kelly, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Lawrence Churchill Kelly, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 15, 2015.

Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in the J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street at 2:30 p.m. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel.

Gladys was born September 1, 1928 in Bluefield, West Virginia, daughter of the late Ward V. Atkins and the late Maggie Morris. She attended Palmer Business College. She was a retired secretary with the Medical University of South Carolina. She was a member of Folly Beach Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, David Lawrence (Carol) Kelly of Goose Creek, SC; four daughters, Martha K. (Cliff) Harvey of Charleston, SC, Mary (Bill) LaVoie of North Charleston, SC, Sarah K. (Dave) Nelson of Charleston, SC and Debbie K. (Bill) Gray of Washington D.C.; brother, Johnny (Mary Alice) Atkins of Bluefield, WV; three granddaughters, Lisa (Toan) Nguyen, Angela (Don) Corbett and Cassandra (Simon) Oliver; two grandsons, Richard (Tonya) Branson and John (Heather) Branson; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her grandson, David L. Kelly, Jr.; brother, Ronald Atkins and sister, Susie Berie.
