Gertrude Ann Simonds

Gertrude "MiMi" Ann Simonds, 87, of Hanahan, SC, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in the Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens, 3044 Old Highway 52 at 11:00 am.  The family will receive friends Monday, November 13, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel.  

Gertrude was born February 8, 1936 in Okmulgee, OK, daughter of the late Edward Jackson Gilder, Jr. and the late Willamina Mae Schatt Gilder.  She enjoyed going to Sandy's Place to watch her late husband play pool and shoot darts. She also loved Christmas, to read and camping at Short Stay.  She loved being with her family and friends.

She is survived by daughter, Karen Simonds (Jerry) Fowler of Hanahan, SC; three grandchildren: Zoe Grace Fowler who was affectionately called Angel by her grandmother, Kasie Dawn Fowler, Cameron (Logan) Fowler; great-grandchild, Raylynn Fowler; three siblings: Annis (Sonny) Hull of North Charleston, SC, Edward Gilder of North Charleston, SC, Laure Dwyer of FL; and many loved nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Eldredge Simonds, daughter, Linda May Simonds and son, Richard E. Simonds, Jr.

The family would like to thank her White Oak family for the love and great care that they gave her.
