Gertrude Smith Litchfield

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of June 2, 2011, Gertrude Smith Litchfield, widow of Richard Litchfield, of Macedonia, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mrs. Gertrude S. Litchfield are invited to attend her funeral service in Oakley Road Ministries, Moncks Corner, SC, Monday, June 6, 2011, at 11:00 am with a reception to follow.  Interment, Ebenezer United Methodist Churchyard.  The family will receive friends at Oakley Road Ministries Sunday afternoon between 4:00 pm and 6:00  pm.  Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL.

The acting pallbearers are:  Peter Wright, Timmy Dangerfield, Martin Poston, Kattie Dangerfield, Michael Haynes and Carl Anderson.  Honorary pallbearers are:  Gene Haynes, Michael Mazell, Aaron Mazell, Gregg Dangerfield and Doug Brownlee.

Mrs. Litchfield was born on December 14, 1919 in Apex, North Carolina the daughter of William Smith and Mary Belle Coward Smith.  She was a former lunchroom employee of Berkeley County School System.   She was very active in her church and a member of the Young At Heart Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her three sons Ray Dangerfield, Donnie Dangerfield both of Moncks Corner, SC and Ronnie Dangerfield of Summerville, SC; daughter, Wanda Keener of High Point, NC; daughter-in-law, Cindy Dangerfield; brother, James Franklin Smith of Rockingham, NC; sister Geraldine Brindle of Rockingham, NC; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilson Woodrow Dangerfield and a daughter, Annie Mazell.
