Gertrude Lillian Kinard

Gertrude Lillian Kinard, 94, of Johns Island, South Carolina, widow of Clemson Henry Kinard, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 27, 2013. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 2:00 pm. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel.
Gertrude was born February 17, 1919 in Williams, South Carolina, daughter of the late William Clem Murdaugh and Mag Rentz Murdaugh. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Johns Island. Gertrude was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her two daughters: Mrytle Crosby of Johns Island, SC, and Jackie Atkinson of Charleston, SC; one son, Franklin Kinard of Cottageville, SC; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Elmore.
