Gertrude M. Adams

Gertrude M. Adams, 92, of Saint Stephen, South Carolina, widow of Philip E. Adams, Sr. entered into eternal rest Monday, March 1, 2021 at the Lake Moultrie Health & Rehab Center. Her funeral service will be held Monday, March 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Charleston, SC 29414. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Rd., Charleston. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc.

Gertrude was born November 9, 1928 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Otto Kurt Melzer and Edith Alaine Daggett Melzer. She spent her working life as a bookkeeper for Cameron & Barkley Lighting, until her retirement. Gertrude was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Janet A. Witham (Bruce) and Susan R. Pacetti (Danny); son, Philip "Gene" E. Adams, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Crystal Henderson (James), Shannon Donovan, Tara Donovan, Karla Schulte (Tupelo), Tiffany Pacetti, Beth Pacetti and Brittany Adams (Howard); 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Philip E. Adams, Sr. and her brother, Otto K. Melzer, Jr.
