Gerry Jurs Laughlin
August 10, 1952 — March 19, 2019
Gerry Jurs Laughlin, 66, of North Charleston, SC entered into eternal rest on Tuesday March 19, 2019 after a brief illness. His memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Gerry was born Aug. 10, 1952 in Charleston, SC. Son of the late Ralph Alfred Laughlin Jr. and Mary Eda Jurs Laughlin. He graduated from James Island High School,"Go Trojans!'' He served as a Med Tech in the Air Force Reserve during the Vietnam conflict and went on to receive his associate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Trident Tech. Recently he was employed with Boeing. As a child Gerry was a Boy Scout and once built a dune buggy with his Dad. He was certified in scuba diving, loved auto cross racing, dancing with Debbie, was a member of the Elks, and celebrated many outings with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Goode Laughlin; his mother, Eda Laughlin; his brother, Alan Laughlin; three sons, Jay Laughlin, Chris Laughlin and Russell Laughlin; daughter Ashley Warder (Adam); and six grandchildren.
