Geronima Pascua Sabado, 83, of N. Charleston, widow of Gelelio Sabado, died Thursday July 15, 2010, in a local hospice facility. Born June 20, 1927 in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Protacio and Leonarda Pascua. Geronima owned and operated a grocery store in the Philippines before moving to the U.S. and becoming a citizen in 1988. She was a member and Deaconess of Iglesia Ni Cristo. You could always find her in her garden where she loved to plant flowers and vegetables.
Mrs. Sabado is survived by her children: Erlinda Frye and her husband George, sons Gerardo Sabado and his wife Teresita and Armando Sabado and his wife Rizalisa; grandchildren, Emy Balmaceda and her husband Gilbert, Tracina Vedsted and her husband Jarod; Rizaldy Sabado, Ruby Sabado, Marvin Sabado; great grandchildren, Kassidy Balmaceda, Kailynn Balmaceda, Melena Hajes, Ethan Hajes and Mia Vedsted.
The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment, Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Dr. N. Charleston. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel on Saturday July 17, 2010 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM and Sunday, July 18, 2010 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
