Entered into eternal rest the morning of Tuesday, September 13, 2011, Gerard E. Reilly, widower of Margaret Glass Reilly, his wife of 61 years.  Residence, Charleston, South Carolina, formerly of Cinnaminson, New Jersey.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service in J.HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Friday, September 16, 2011 at 9:30am. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Beaufort National Cemetery at 12pm.  The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel, Friday one hour prior to the service.


Jerry Reilly was born July 23, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York, son of Frank J. Reilly and Anna Messing Reilly. He was a devote Catholic, loving husband and father.  Mr. Reilly was a United States Navy veteran and served during World War II in the Pacific. He enjoyed playing his harmonica, dancing and was known for his great sense of humor.


Surviving are his four daughters, Peggy Reilly of New York, NY; Nancy Reilly Dixon and husband David of Charleston, SC; Anne Reilly of Anacortes, WA and Teresa Palmer of Miami, FL; three sons; Pat Reilly and wife JoAnn of New Smyrna Beach, FL; David Reilly and wife Miriam of Denver, CO; and Bill Reilly of Kihei, HI. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Yardley.
