Geraldine B. Young-Chinn

Mrs. Geraldine Baxter Young Chinn, 90 years of age, passed away on January 13, 2011, at Tallahassee Memory Care in Tallahassee, FL. Mrs. Young-Chinn's parents, Charles and Vera McCrae Baxter, and her siblings, Annelle Baxter Grabin, Victoria Baxter Lunsford, and Robert Olin Baxter, preceded her in death. Mrs. Young's first husband, Robert W. Young, and her second husband, Lewis Chinn, also preceded her in death. Her youngest son, James Terry Young, preceded her in death as well.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Young Hudson of Tallahassee, FL; her son, Robert (Bob) W. Young, Jr., of St. Simon's Island, GA; seven grandchildren, including Lynn Hudson, James Hudson, Jr., Laurie Hudson Mikuta, Scott Young, Leighann Young, Greer Young and Graham Young; two great-grandchildren, Bryson James Hudson and Georgia Grace Mikuta; several nieces, nephews, including Charles Grabin, Carla Lunsford Owens, Diane Baxter Cibulski,  John Baxter, and David Lunsford; several great- nieces and nephews, and other family members.

Born in Clayton, Alabama, Barbour County, Mrs. Young-Chinn lived most of her life in Charleston, SC, where she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Park Circle Presbyterian Church.

 A visitation will be held at J. HENRY STUHR NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Park Circle Presbyterian Church, 4701 Park Place West, North Charleston, SC, with graveside service following at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends at Park Circle Presbyterian Church's Fellowship Hall after the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Park Circle Presbyterian Church, Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee, or a charity of one's choice.
