Geraldine M. Guerry, 83, of North Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Edward Middleton Guerry, Jr., entered into eternal rest Wednesday, September 30, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 6th, in the Advent Lutheran Church, 3347 Rivers Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. Arrangements by J. Geraldine was born June 22, 1932 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of William Hunter Mitchum and Gladys Gehlken Mitchum. She was a graduate of Chicora High School. She worked as a teacher's aide for Chicora High School and North Charleston High School and was proprietor for 25 years of Ed's Hardware in Bonneau, SC. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church. She enjoyed painting. She also enjoyed sewing and crafting with the Dorcas Society and going out with "the girls." She enjoyed entertaining people with laughter.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edward Middleton Guerry, Jr., two daughters, Linda G. Edwards of Mt. Pleasant and Laron G. Stone (Donald) of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Edward K. Guerry (Deborah) of Goose Creek and Guy Mitchum Guerry (Tracey) of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren, Christy Fulmer (Thomas), Philip E.C. Stone (Anna), Kristin Chaplin (Clay), Kara Cumbee (Adam), Kindall Guerry; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, William G. Mitchum (Anita) of James Island; sister in law, Barbara Beach of Bonneau Beach, SC; brother in law, Jerry Lynn Jones of Bonneau Beach, SC; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Caroline Maatta and sister-in-law Rosemary Jones.
